GenIUS, Law Journal on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

GenIUS is the first Italian Law Journal on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity https://www.articolo29.it/genius/. It is a six-month peer-reviewed law journal, directed by Marco Balboni, Marco Gattuso and Barbara Pezzini, aimed at becoming a benchmark in the legal research on the evolution of family law.
Born in Italy, where the intense dialogue between scholars and courts is significantly needed to stimulate legislative initiatives to protect LGBTI families, GenIUS explores legal issues arising in a wide variety of topical areas (Constitutional Law, Private Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, EU Law, Comparative Law, International Law etc) both in Italy and abroad through a multidisciplinary approach. It also encourages foreign essays in English, Spanish and French in order to contribute to the current national and supranational debates in an efficient and timely manner.
The first issue (https://www.articolo29.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/genius-2014-01.pdf ) is entirely focused on the divorce clause imposed in case of gender identity, timely issued with the Italian Constitutional Court judgment n. 170/2014.
The second issue (https://www.articolo29.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/genius-2014-02.pdf) presents a new structure. It includes 6 sections: a Focus on a specific matter, in this case on “Marriage, civil partnerships and fundamental rights”, a collection of papers (Interventi) dealing with sexual orientation and gender identity issues from a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective, a collection of case notes on the most recent case-law issued by national and supranational courts (Commenti), an Observatory (Osservatorio documenti) on the most relevant legal materials, and an Observatory on the key cases on the matter (Osservatorio decisioni).
